We had so much fun learning about electricity last Saturday (April 8th) at the Tumbleweed Ranch! It was ironic that we made electrical circuits on the porch of the century-old McCroskey House because the Edwards family never had electricity when they were living in it. But we’re really glad that all the smart scientists and engineers developed this technology.
With the help of our hand rechargeable flashlights and home-made mini-generator, we learned that we could generate electrical energy from mechanical energy. We also saw the science behind this by turning the plastic coil and providing the motion to get ‘electrons’ inside moving.
In addition, we saw different materials that could either be conductors or insulators and were amazed to test these out!
To get involved, please reach out! We’d love to hear from you.
